Welcome

Being here with us now means you've chosen (or are considering ) the very best home lawn money can buy - because that's all we do!! Supplying only SIR WALTER Premium Lawn is a testimony of our faith in this product. Of course, SIR WALTER has its own website which perhaps you have already visited, in which case you will already know about the amazing resilience of SIR WALTER.
No matter what your situation, SIR WALTER will work better than any other lawn - in short - if SIR WALTER wont grow there, nothing will.

Buffalo grass has always been the traditional lawn grass for New South Wales coastal and warmer inland areas. However supplies found naturally occurring around the broader Sydney Metropolitan area were overrun by residential & industrial expansion by the 1950s. Hence old time turf cutters, like the Courtneys resorted to the low-lying areas of the Hawkesbury-Nepean system, where the naturally occurring grasses were couch and kikuyu. Hence in the 1960s when we began specifically growing lawn grass for the Sydney market, couch, and to a lesser extent kikuyu, was what we cultivated.

We watched lawn trends come and go but, when soft leaf buffalo appeared its weed resistance, non-invasiveness and durability made it a practical and popular choice for the home lawn. However soft leaf buffalo has poor colour retention during the colder months and so many growers began cultivating new improved (and generally imported varieties) of soft leaf buffalo.

By now, having embraced soft leaf buffalo, but aware of its shortcomings, we observed diligently and patiently. When approached by Brent Redman with a new as yet unnamed soft leaf buffalo, we knew our wait had been worth it. We can only say the ensuing success of SIR WALTER speaks form itself. Sir Walter is an Australian bred variety more suited to the harsh Australian environment.
